Description
This originally started out as a very different image, but when I started with the background it sort of got a life of its own, so I ditched the original foreground (it will appear in a different image I think) and did this instead.
I'm not fond of painting trees, but I think I might be finding my way around them now. Comments are much appreciated.
(And yes, the Jester has four hands, in case you didn't know (you can find more images with her in the gallery)).

I was led here by your tutorial on how to create a nature background in GIMP, which is the program I use since I can't afford anything else. I wanted to say that your tutorial was exactly what I was looking for, since I never had any formal instruction on how to paint a nature scene. My particular characters are nature-themed and I've been meaning to learn how to create appropriate environments for them.
