Quick and fun sketch done for MyPaint's screenshot section in order to show off the layers and default backgrounds.
Used as a poster for a recurring cinema event at work.  Quickie, done in MyPaint [link] , about an hour. . Griatch Comments

[link]  Easily one of your best. The proportions on the monster are a little off, but other than that well done. Colors are more fluid, details are in the right places, whereas usually you overly detail things that don't need details. The mood in this painting flows much better because of that.

His right hand is off, and the perspective is a little off on the feet.
As for overly detailing things, when you detail things in the background, or extreme foreground, such as grass, dirt, caves, etc., you draw attention away from the focal point. Like, in your fighting back painting. The soldiers pulled away from the rest of the scene because they were overly detailed, and because their lighting was so different from everything else. -- "Jesus came to pay a debt He did not owe, because we owed a debt we could not pay." Right, reminds me that you are a fan of all sorts of food.
