Square collection of beautiful photos

The makeshift pickaxe was ugly, and it clashed terribly with her dress, but it was Walpurgis Nacht. And you know what mama always said, "A girl can't be too careful."
And besides, if Tommy Henderson got handsy at the dance again, she might need it again later. This picture says one of two things to me. 1) this girl is from a time and place where danger and violence are so common that they are an accepted part of everyday life, and you make the best of it. That's the sort of thing I was thinking when I wrote the snippet above. 2) This girl is completely cracked. She either knows how gruesome that blood-caked weapon is, and likes it, or she has no idea why looking like a psychopath is bad. -- Dragonsept Arts and Publishing [link] Oh, and I don't have too much critique. As usual with you, the face and eyes are superb. The hand looks right on. Her skin gets a little gray in places, but I have noticed that about most of your pieces so at this point I am assuming it's a stylistic choice for you.

Story.. The world has ended and began anew. She is a survivor born into this world. She has fought since birth to survive... And she is good at it, but she is still a young girl. As criticism, the shoulder of her lifted hand looks slightly off... theres something strange with the shading, wrong bits buldge... -- Void of feeling, force unknown... |

The way you've painted the knife is fantastic, the blade especially, very realistic.
It's also a fantastic concept that really did make me think!
The thing that I really would suggest is finding a consistent light source - there's parts of this of this image that suggest the main illumination is coming from the left, parts that suggest it's coming from the right and parts that make me think it's coming from straight on!
I might also try adding a couple more highlights to the hair, to make it seem as shiny and full of life as the figure, and possibly thinning the neck a little where it meets the shoulders - the effect it gives at the moment is that she's straining heavily, which really looks a little odd with her expression.
Some people might suggest that you blend your colours a little in the facial area, but I like the impressionistic effect that this gives.
Also, feel I should comment on the dress - absolutely love this! You've painted it really nicely, love the shadows.
You asked for critique so I'm offering you some - feel free to just disregard it if you don't like it - this piece is fantastic as it is.
