Cheerful Close-up by Griatch-art Cheerful Close-up by Griatch-art
Following my closeup in The Salesman [link] I got inspired for more close-ups. This is a closeup of another of my characters, you should hopefully recognize her from elsewhere in my gallery. ;) Admittedly she's probably got a bit more mascara here than usual.

I like this piece. It is good. I would give more detail to the eye, especially around the area excluding the cornea.

The colors are very warm. This I like. Too many artists use cold tones in their works depicting death, blues and ultraviolets.

But remember, the beauty of the color circle, when one meets ones end, it becomes a new beginning. That is only possible with God.

This I am speaking about is the color spectrum.

Also, I would add more detail to the eyebrows and lashes. Those tiny hairs. and if their is a blemish on your subject you can choose to paint the subject with or without this blemish depending on who the artwork is for.
What do you think?

The colors (of her hat) and the shape of her upper lip says Jester girl! I think I've seen those marks on her cheek before without consciously noticing it.

Very nice coloring on her skin, it looks healthy.

She does have those beauty marks on her cheek ever since the first "No Frowns in Misery" image I think. I tend to forget them, finalizing the image and then do a double-take and having to go back to add them in.

It's interesting what details are enough to identify a person. Here her hat is helping but I agree the upper part of her lip is rather characteristic of the jester in later images I've done of her.

Wow the skin looks incredibly realistic. I don't know why but she always sort of the creeps me out a bit with that eerie smile of hers. But this one looks like a sweet smile.

Thanks for the comment. It's interesting that her smile would creep you out, but it may be that she's sort of ... intense about it most of the time. ;) Glad you like the skin and that this smile looks sweeter!

You are doing and absolutly phenomenal job of making her look innocent every single time, even without the smile! The only minor change i see ist that her nose looks a bit smaller making her appear slightly younger.

Thanks for the feedback, her age does vary a bit between pictures I've noticed. ;) You are probably right that the nose is a tad smaller here, it was an interesting challenge to get it right despite being outside the picture frame. She's a fun character to draw, good to hear her "innocent" look does come across.
